Bluebird Care’s Franchise Support Centre Wins Award for Team Support Expertise and is Highly Commended for their Innovative Technology Expertise at the Home Care Awards 2020

Bluebird Care’s Franchise Support Centre won the award for Team Support Expertise at the Home Care Awards 2020. They were also highly commended in the Innovative Technology Expertise Category.

The prestigious Home Care Awards are the benchmark for business and service excellence in the UK home care sector. This year, the award-winners were announced online after the ceremony on the 17 March was unfortunately cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Bluebird Care won the Team Support Expertise Award, which reflects the impressive total of 300 years of industry experience that Bluebird Care’s Franchise Support Centre staff members have collectively acquired. This includes accredited qualifications, experience working for the Care Quality Commission and franchising expertise. To ensure this expertise is replicated throughout Bluebird Care’s network, they launched their own Training Academy, which consists of several CPD accredited courses aimed at giving Bluebird Care team members the opportunity to further develop their skills in customer care, customer service, finance and first aid.

Bluebird Care was also highly commended in the Innovation Technology Expertise category for their pioneering approach utilising digital and artificial technology to transform social care. In 2019, Bluebird Care launched a Health and Wellbeing Checks Service that involves specially trained care champions generating vital check scores for customers using a carefully designed toolkit. The customer’s progress is then recorded in a matrix that is helping to bridge the gap between health and social care. They are able to provide a personalised and consistent care service to all customers, as well as striving to alleviate some of the burden on the NHS.

In 2019, Bluebird Care also launched their Staff Guide App that is dubbed a “toolbox” for their staff and can be accessed via any mobile device. The app, developed by Bluebird Care’s Quality and Compliance Team, allows staff to instantly access information, videos and advice, ensuring that on-hand training and guidance is available throughout the Bluebird Care network.

Hannah Banfield, Marketing and Communications Director at Bluebird Care, said:

“Bluebird Care are honoured to have received the Award for Team Support Expertise. It is also amazing to be highly commended in the Innovative Technology Expertise Category. It is a testament to all the incredible staff at the Franchise Support Centre.

Bluebird Care is shortlisted for prestigious franchise award

We are delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted in the Business Transformation category at the bfa HSBC British Franchise Awards, to be held at the Vox, Birmingham, on the 30th November later this year.

The awards evening on the 30th November is the flagship event in the franchising calendar and getting a nomination in itself is an achievement, proving the business works ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff, beating many other franchise systems who also entered.

Pip Wilkins QFP, CEO of the British Franchising Association, congratulated the in-home care provider:

“While Bluebird Care has always been a profitable business and the numbers have always looked rosy, it is in the last two years where a lot of work has been done to transform the ethos and outlook of the business, implementing a clear five-year strategy and ensuring regular and transparent communication with the network.”

Andrew Brattesani, Head of Franchising, HSBC, said:

“…Bluebird Care has been able to show real value, implementing a new live chat system, seeing social media traffic increase 68 per cent on the year before, a significant increase in franchise enquiries and a 100 per cent increase in web traffic and an increase in turnover.”

We will be going go head-to-head against two other franchise systems later this year.

It’s just one more reason why investing in a Bluebird Care franchise could be the start of your success. With a proven business formula, an award winning franchise support team and now, a shortlisting in the British Franchise Association’s annual awards, Bluebird Care represents an investment choice that makes sense. To find out more about joining the award winning Bluebird Care franchise network, and how you can become a successful franchise owner by getting in touch with Vicky Brown, franchise recruitment manager, today.

Successful franchise owner expands business into third territory

Following on from the success of their two franchise businesses in South Tyneside & Newcastle, Bluebird Care franchisees, David, and Kelly Haswell have extended their award-winning and outstanding rated care services.

Over the last 10 years David and Kelly have delivered outstanding, person-centred care to those communities across South Tyneside & Newcastle, helping their customers to lead independent lives in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.

Before joining Bluebird Care, David previously worked in Business Development, as well as Product and Marketing Management.

He said: “We decided to launch Bluebird Care South Tyneside following my own family’s experience with home care when my grandparents were in need. We felt there was a lack of information about what was available, inconsistency of care, poor time keeping, lack of choice, and poor customer service. I am proud to say that we have achieved what we set out to achieve, which was to build a care business that had an excellent reputation for providing quality, flexible and tailor-made care”

David and Kelly’s commitment and drive to ensure the very best support and care to their customers, whilst creating an environment where their team can thrive, has led them to achieving their ‘outstanding’ rating with the Care Quality Commission and being in the position to expand their services into the Darlington, South Durham and Yarm areas.

Kelly is a qualified Social Worker who gained a BA (Hons) in Social Work from the University of Sunderland. She has experience in working as part of Adult Older Persons teams, Direct Payment Teams, as well as Fostering until she took her position as Director.

Kelly said: “Our aim is to ensure that the ethos and philosophy of Bluebird Care South Tyneside stands firm throughout all of our businesses and we will treat each customer as if they were a member of our own family, through a ‘can-do-attitude’ and ‘good old-fashioned service’.

Our standards our maintained by hiring people who share our vision that everyone deserves and should have access to, the very best care.”
