Every Visit Counts

Help us combat loneliness in the UK

The twin threats of an aging population and an increasingly fractured society means loneliness is a growing but under-appreciated problem in Britain.

Loneliness does not just affect older people. It affects people of all ages but it disproportionately affects older people.

Everyone has a role to play in making sure that older people in Britain do not suffer in silence. That is why Bluebird Care has decided to create this campaign. Care companies are in a unique position to help tackle this threat.

Bluebird Care Awards

The Bluebird Care Awards is a celebration of the exemplary commitment shown by everyone who believes in the Bluebird Care brand ethos.

Every day of the year, without exception, over 15,000 people represent the Bluebird Care brand delivering over 20,000 care visits. That’s an extraordinary 7 million care visits a year.

These awards recognise those within Bluebird Care who have demonstrated such commitment and loyalty, to ensure the high calibre of care that is synonymous with Bluebird Care is consistently delivered to all our customers. These individuals are the ones that make Bluebird Care stand out in a highly competitive market.

Our awards are open to 15,000 individuals who are representing the Bluebird Care Brand, with nominations submitted by our franchise owners in each of the three categories. It is up to our Franchise Network Committee (FNC) to judge and determine regional winners, resulting in a short-list of 6 finalists in each of the three categories. This year we invited all our finalists to an awards lunch, along with their respective franchisee, to meet each other and enjoy an afternoon of celebration.

The Categories

Carer of the Year

The ‘Carer of the Year’ award is about recognising the outstanding and extraordinary people who are at the front line of delivering care and helping people to stay at home and live their lives with independence and dignity.

Team Member of the Year

The ‘Team Member of the Year’ award is designed to recognise the importance of the role that the office teams play supporting our care assistants and our customers. They are the back bone of Bluebird Care and their ability to deliver this vital role is key to ensuring our care assistants have the level of support they require and that our customer receive the care they need.

Registered Manager of the Year

The ‘Registered Manager of the Year’ award recognises the role of responsibility and accountability within our businesses as well as leadership and the importance of guiding and directing our teams, supporting them to achieve their true potential.

National Awards

National Awards are a perfect opportunity to showcase our achievements and demonstrate our commitment to delivering the very best support to our franchisees across the network.

We understand franchising is underpinned by a unique relationship and as a market leading franchisor we continue to invest in our franchisees. To be recognised for our commitment to our business and its future is a great honour.

Over the last year we have developed and implemented new technology within the care sector and created a number of new initiatives, raising awareness of industry related issues and ensuring our franchisees and their teams are recognised for their dedication, hard work and commitment through our own ‘Franchise of the Year Awards’ and the ‘Bluebird Care Awards’ respectively.

Following a rigorous judging process Bluebird Care were awarded Gold at this year’s bfa HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards.

Pip Wilkins QFP, Chief Executive at the bfa, said:

Bluebird Care’s achievement is truly inspiring and as judges, we couldn’t help but notice the team’s hard work and overall excellence in growing their franchise. We are excited to see how the business shapes itself in the near future
